Institut für Neurowissenschaften

Technische Universität München

Research in our institute is focused on a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying brain function in health and disease. We study different types of neurons in the cortex, cerebellum and hippocampus, and use a variety of techniques, including electrophysiology, molecular biology and high-resolution imaging in vitro and in vivo. A major focus of our recent research is directed towards an exploration of behavior-related forms of signaling in cortical and cerebellar neuronal circuits.
